Clariant Sorb-It silica gel desiccant packets provide a simple, economical solution for controlling moisture in a variety of packaging applications, such as shipping or storing electronics, machine parts, equipment, pharmaceuticals, and bulk foods. Made with highly porous silica gel, each packet is designed to absorb 40 percent of its weight in water.
These packets feature a high water vapor transmission rate, allowing for easy moisture and gas passage while also preventing rotting and mildew. They remain dry and free-flowing even at full water vapor capacity while maintaining shape, size, and texture.
Silica gel adsorbs moisture faster at high humidity levels compared to bentonite clay. Additionally, you can dry these packets in the oven to remove retained water vapor between uses, allowing you to reactivate them and make the most of your desiccant supply.
